HPQ FLASH is saying BIOS is not compatible with this system
You need to use Internet Explorer as your default browser. So change it to that if default is set to Chrome or Firefox.
Try it again. If that still doesn't work zip up the BIOS and attach it here so I can see what you're using.

Here's the update that I need to apply...

What version of Windows are you using ?

Why not try using v01.13 REV: A instead and see if that works ?

Windows 7 currently...I just tried v01.13 REV
But within HPQ Flash it's saying: The binary to create HP_TOOLS partition is not present: 'C:\Users\kcirderf97\Downloads\Installer.exe'

Drag the .exe file to your desktop then double click it and see if that works.

Got it to work finally...Thank you!

Remember that after flashing you need to load optimized defaults or whatever HP calls it.
Watch this video from the 1:10 timestamp to see how to do it correctly.

Then set up the BIOS the way it was originally before the flash took place.

Gotcha...I've just inserted pen drive to install El Capitan; it gets so far then freezes on a black screen showing error text throughout the screen

Followed VioletDragon's guide
