Hi, folks! Everyone's fine?

I have a hack running 10.8.2 on an Intel Core I5 3570K CPU/Gigabyte H77 DS3H motherboard, with 8 gigs of RAM at 1600 ghz, using the Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics with a 21.5'' display plugged in its DVI out.

Every time i wake the computer from sleep, it will freeze seconds after it, at the screen it's showing at the moment (because of this, i even didn't notice it was a freeze the first time, and thought my keyboard and mouse or the USB ins they were plugged in stopped to work). The only solution when it happens is to hard-reboot the computer.

I googled a lot since it started to happen and found it was common with real Macs by the time Mountain Lion was launched, and it should have been corrected since 10.8.1. I use 10.8.2, so it shouldn't be a problem, right?

I know my board does not need a patched dsdt to work, so i'm really lost here with this annoying yet minor issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

Update: i tried the Darkwake=10 sleep fix discussed else where, to no perceptible change.

I noticed also that the problem only occurs if the computer sleeps uninterruptedly for many hours. A quick nap doesn't do any harm.

Are there any 'Unsynchronized TSC for cpu' errors in the console after a wake event? I was seeing similar behavior (frozen or VERY laggy after waking) and I noticed the 'Unsynchronized TSC for cpu' errors in the system console.

If you are seeing the errors, I would suggest installing the VoodooTSCSync kext (http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/voodootscsync/) and set the IOCPUNumber=3 (4 cores, no hyperthreading) in the kext's Info.plist.

I'll take a look as soon as i get home, thank you for helping, very much indeed!

No, it didn't show this kind of errors you described.

Here the Console system log from the wake time until the hard reboot two minutes later:

Thank you very much for any insight on the issue!

Put my system to sleep and woke it up again.

The message the Console outputs at exact time of the freeze is this:

Oct 30 00:34:35 localhost mDNSResponderHelper[944]: do_mDNSInterfaceAdvtIoctl: ioctl call SIOCGIFINFO_IN6 failed - error (22) Invalid argument

| Oct 30 00:34:35 localhost mDNSResponderHelper[944]: do_mDNSInterfaceAdvtIoctl: ioctl call SIOCGIFINFO_IN6 failed - error (22) Invalid argument

I get that exact error when my machine wakes from sleep and stutters. The stutter lasts for about 30 seconds and is intermittent. I can enter a few characters of my password at a time but rarely can I get it completely entered and then hit enter.

Also, once I log in (if I can get it all entered early), the cursor and mouse stutter until the ~30 seconds has elapsed.

I have done three wipe/installs to test this. I found that:

The issue occurs when waking after booting from Unibeast into my freshly installed system.
The issue occurs when waking after booting into the system following the installation of Multibeast.
The issue occurs both before and after transferring applications and files from my backup disk.
Darkwake=1 and Darkwake=10 make no difference.

Any ideas?

Have been scouring the net for a solution. I too have freezing that occurs after hours of sleeping. Turns out it is a bug in 10.8.2. There are numerous long threads on Apple support boards. Supposedly apple is aware of the issue and will fix it soon.

Various people have been blaming graphics cards, or routers, or something else. Some fixes work for some people. But overall, the only consensus is that it is a common and known issue.

As a temporary fix turn off 'Wake for ethernet access'. Your wake-on-lan will stop working, but you won't have any system freezes due to auto-wake.

Hi. Did any of you ever find a solution to this problem? I have had wake from long sleep issues since Mavericks and am really trying to find a solution. Thanks!
