Some things you need to know to get the video bandwidth for 4K resolution.

1..The Seiki SE39UY04 DOES NOT support HDMI 1.4, you have to use Displayport to HDMI.

2..You have to use an ACTIVE Displayport to HDMI adapter at the computer end (video card Displayport).
And use the HDMI cable provided by Seiki.

3..Your video card has to support Displayport 1.2, check your card's specs.

Don't waste your time trying SwitchResX, it can't fix your problem.

With the correct hardware the Seiki monitor works great.
The 30Hz is not as big an issue as some have said.
Running on Mac OS it performs well.

I have a 40" 4K Philips that runs at 60Hz and it's very difficult to see the difference to 30Hz.
The Seiki is a lot better for colour quality, the philips looks washed out by comparison.

The only real advantage of the Philips is it's a real monitor that properly supports sleep.
The Philips was a PITA to find a spec compliant Displayport 1.2 cable, many claim they are but aren't.
I had discussions about the cable issues with Philips Commercial Monitor Division.

The Seiki is a fantastic deal when you consider the Philips is more than 4 times the price and disappointing quality.

These 4K 40" monitors are bleeding edge technology that are not fully supported by all the nuts and bolts required.

Hope that helps.
