Good news! This guide seems to be obsolete now, I recently installed Mavericks and the new Multibeast beast Mavericks comes with Voodoo HD drivers for the VT2021 chipset, which is what the GA-Z77x-D3H uses, so now all you need to do is check the box and install and there you have it, no more removing the Apple HDA kext etc.

Lucky you. But setting VT2021 on multibeast did not enable the audio for me. any other thoughts for Mavericks?
