[Success] ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX + TB3 + iGPU + Mojave + SFF Build

@matj I am making a fresh Catalina 10.15.4 install. Have exact message "An error occurred while preparing .." like yours. Was your issue solved?

@wangbo223 Nope, I tried several times with fresh Catalina installer and got the same message. I finally installed Mojave and upgrade to Catalina through App Store.

Just curios about this error message, as seems the installer is already copied to SSD at this moment, I have tried to reboot and saw the installed partition, but I just didn't try the installer once.

@matj I tried boot from the partially installed SSD, but got all kind of weird errors on start up later. I guess that's because files were partially copied. I had no luck using Mojave because my video card RX5700XT is only natively supported by Catalina.

@wangbo223 How about installing it without the display card? I installed first with iGPU only, after that I add back the display card.

@matj I found the reason. Catalina 10.15.4 bless tool requires NVRM access, SIP set for nvrm access.

I installed Mojave first, then tried to upgrade to Catalina 10.15.4, then the error message becomes obvious.
I then ignored the message and went ahead restarting the computer as prompted.
I do have EmuVariableUefi.efi and OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi but I guess my emulated nvrm was never working.

The Apple About this Mac page now shows Catalina 10.15.4. I guess it's time for me to switch to Open Core from Clover.

Hello everyone, I attach the new EFI OC 0.5.8
I have also checked the OpenCore Configurator to 0.5.8 and it works fine, they have added quite a few new things.
The Thunderbolt port is enabled by default and its SSDT-TbtOnPch.aml file already includes the EC and USBX patches.
If you do not want to activate Thunderbolt, disable the .aml entry and activate SSDT-EC-USBX.aml in the ACPI section.
Remember to include your own USBPorts.kext if you don't like mine and fill the data in the PlatformInfo section with your own.
Greetings

Hi fontanero, I have a KP every time I try to overclock my i5 9600KF on this board - opencore 0.57
It will overclock in win 10 to 5.1Ghz no problem but when I change from just 4.6 to 4.7ghz in OSX i get the following KP:

Hi, I'm sorry but I don't overclock.

It can be a lot of things, it's a very delicate thing, memories, voltage stresses or the closed world of Apple.

Try a different setting instead of the imac19.1 x.

I'll settle for working.

I'm sorry.

Solved, it was a BIOS issue :)
