[SOLVED] Getting Black screen instead of log in screen

Hi Guys,

I could use some help please.

I had Yosemite up and running with clover for awhile. Went thru version 10.10.2, 10.10.3 and now 10.10.4.

I made the mistake of adding trim for SSD from mulitbeast and now when it start up it goes thru the boot up process then when it should go to the log in page, I just get a big circle with a line thru it.

So then I redid the whole install with 10.10.4 and now it boots up to the clover, then goes thru the apple boot up too, but when it should go to log in screen, it just goes to a black screen.


Can you help me get this back up and running please?

System specs:
GA-Z97-UD5H
Intel 4790 not over clocked
Gskill F3-1866C-32 only 2 of the 4 stick install, not over clocked. This is new, I did have 2 sticks 1600 ram.
Nvidia 760 SC

You've disabled your integrated graphics in your BIOS but you are injecting them in your config.plist.

You don't need to take photographs of your BIOS screens, if you press f12 it will save images to a USB flash drive.

Also in BIOS :
Change XHCI mode from Smart Auto to Auto.
Disable your Serial Port.

I did try changing all the setting you mention in the bois, but it made no different. Still ending up with a black screen.

Are you able to boot from your USB flash drive ?

Have you tried copying your config.plist file from your USB to your hard drive ?

I have been working on this all weekend. I've tried a lot of different things.

There are two thinsg that have change since my first build with this Mobo, which went beautifully and worked great till 10.10.4.

First, I was using 10.10.2 version USB install drive, but somehow during this process it got corrupted. So I had to use the new 10.10.4 to make a new USB install drive. This version is a pain.

Second is the ram. I original l had Gskill 1600 ram 2 stick of 8. Now I am trying to use GSkill F3-1866 which a bought in a 32gb set. Only using 2 stick in hopes of getting it to start up.

My guess is one or both of these are causing the problem.

I have not done anything with Multibeast yet cause after I reboot the end result is a black screen.

I just want to make sure everything in the bois setting and in the config setting were correct for my Mobo.

It turned out to be my Nvidia graphic card GTX 760. Had to remove it to install Yosemite. Once all was well added the 760 back in.

Problem solved
