Complete success!!
Followed every step using the recommended procedure.
Only had to install the Network driver. Two days working without problem.
Thanks to all the people working here!
Very happy. I've already made my donation.

Intel Core I7 930 2.80Ghz
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5
DVD ROM SATA 16X
DVD RAM SATA 24x
Zotac GeForce GTX 465 1GB GDDR5
ATX - Antec P183
Mushkin Silverline 6GB 3x2GB
Tacens Radix IV 700W
Noctua NH-U9B SE2
WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA3
Monitor 27" Dell Ultrasharp

Installed a Gigabyte 460 GTX 1GI
Everything seemed fine except impossible to resize a quicktime video in Ableton Live 8.
Video goes black as soon as you resize it at sometimes displays garbage memory
Tried everything, with DSDT / without ,
with AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext / without / Modified version with 3.1 and 5.1 smbios
Changed PCI-E slots
Changed Video formats (MP4/H264/DV)

Video is fine in Protools and quicktime player but something is very wrong in Live 8
A bit of a letdown
My cinebench is very low at 16 and I haven't been able to get it any higher
Any ideas welcome

My cinebench scores have gone down from 10.6.4 install.

Before I used to get 33FPS for the GPU score yesterday I got 27.

CPU score is the same about 7 points.

I made the modifications shown by deDante. Hopefully that'll stabilize my system.

My system:

GA-x58a-UD3r Rev 2.0 BIOS=FB
i7 930 (not overclocked)
450 GTS w/ 1024 GDDR5
8GB 1600Mhz RAM (should I remove 4 GB for the install?)

I have not been able to get my nVidia 450 GTS to display anything but basic 1024x768x32.
(graphic mode = 1280x1024x32 works, but it is still the basic display)

Normally I Boot from EFI partition.

I have booted to iBootGE
Installed 10.6.5 combo update
Multibeast 2.5 Chameleon RC5 Prerelease (user DSDT from TonyMacX86)
installed TonyMac nVidia drivers

After rebooting I still get the same graphics.
I don't have nvEnabler installed.

I have extracted the Retail drivers from nVidia, and have installed them on both system partition, and on the EFI partition, but nothing changes.

I tried the PCIRootUID=1 and my network disappeared.
I have tried using efi studio to insert my device ID into com.apple.boot.plist, and again, I loose my network.
I have changed my system from MacPro 4.1 to 5.1 and 11.1
11.1 appears to be more stable, but Safari, and google browser hang on the Ad's.
Firefox, with AdBlocker is a little more stable.

CustomBeast has been ordered, and I'm in the queue.

I have had this issue since I upgraded my mb, video, and RAM
(old GA-ept45-ud3lr, 9800 w/ 512 and 4GB ram)
Never had this issue.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
:ugeek:
Solved!

I took a look at my L/P/SysConfig/com.apple.boot.plist
Here I had a reference to my DSDT file.
I copied this to my /EFI/Extra partition's file, rebooted, and FULL graphic's.
Full QE/CI interface.

By the way, this tip is for better performance or for avoiding crashes? Thanks mate

Edit: I have changed MacPro5.1 to 3.1 in smbios.plist and now cinebench opengl score is 26.15 :) and CPU 3.80. Hope your tip si freeze related (and fix it) :headbang:

I'm afraid it doesn't stop the freeze.

... just confirmed it with my other build that randomly freezes especially when web surfing (Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 + Gigabyte GTX 460 768MB).

Strange thing is that it never seems to freeze when the CPU/GPU is partially / fully loaded like watching video clips or gaming.

(this particular rig is 100% stable when dual-booted to Win 7 so hardware is confirmed to be in good order)

Edited my PM kext for my 450 SC and it did not resolve the freezes. Not sure what else to do...
