I recently updated my Sandy Bridge system to 10.12.4 from 10.10.5 so as to put in a new 1050ti gpu. Straight off the bat my USB3 does not work, because apparently my early series 7 mobo has a Etron EJ168A controller, which is not supporter by either El Cap or Sierra. Anyhow I will go for a USB 3.1 card shortly, so that's not the problem.

The major problem is that Sierra can't sleep. once it goes into sleep, trying to wake it up means a kernel panic and reboot loop. I searched and found something interesting in one of the official apple forums. a loaded kext, no longer in use can interrupt sleep mode. SO I ran the pmset commands to get the following output.

Listed by owning process:

Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler

I don't know wtf is IODisplayWrangler and it seems IOUSB host device is holding up sleep. what should I do?

have set my system identifier as 12,2 and here is the output of CPU states using power mgmt commands

What logical steps should I take to rectify the sleep problem?

You might try FIX_WAK :

Did you find anything to fix this?
I got into a loop last night, where the 2011 CustoMac Mini wouldn't come back after a deep sleep, the fans would light up and it would start to boot, then reset as if the power supply was shorting out, this kept happening for 5 minutes straight even after I pulled the power plug.
Got busy last night and didn't end up turning it on, but 48 hours later, plugged it in and it booted right up.

Never had any sleep issues 10.7 to 10.11. I had a rough update to 10.12. I figure some file or setting got changed. But not exactly sure since I've never had to solve for sleep before.
