Just got home and checked the Asus

Would seem to indicate that it is trying to sleep and something on the EHC1 EHC2 XHC bus is preventing it. This repeats in cycles over and over for more times that I want to count, about 6 minute intervals - which tends to confirm it is probably the system checking the drive. I am going to remove it and just leave it out and see.

Made a start on this today. Applied the common patches listed in your guide from your repository.
Carefully compared the patches in the Asus G75VW patch against my DSDT and applied them - there were two items not in my DSDT - I assume if it does not find an item then no patch is applied. I then added your OS-X-APCI-Battery- Driver and rebooted.
You can add the G751JY to the "works for" list for the Asus G75VW battery patch.

Original DSDT without changes is attached

I think the "ASUS N55/VivoBoook" patch is more appropriate. The other patch is patching some SystemMemory fields in your DSDT. Only EmbeddedControl fields need patching.

OK, I will look at that and try it. Is there a method of dragging a patch into MacIASL and dropping it to run from a plain text text edit file?

Dragging into the OS X standard Open dialog from the Patch window gets you close to that...

Just finished updating to Sierra PB3 and updating the nVidia driver for the GTX980m and testing things out.
Messages, Siri, App Store access, iCloud access, networking, all work.
What works:
Minimal system to get to desktop
Graphics acceleration
Laptop basics:
Brightness controls in SysPrefs->Displays - not there
Sleep working - no
WiFi working - Intel card: no drivers
BlueTooth working - yes
Power management working - no
Audio working - no
HDMI/DP audio working - no
Battery status working - yes
USB3 working - USB3.0 ports are recognized in System Profiler and IOREG, but speed is dismal.

I know this may be a bit late, I was just able to install Sierra no issues, with Nvidia 980m Lan is working properly, just a little stuck on how to get the keyboard and trackpad to be recognized. Using and external keyboard and mouse no problem. Just wondering if i missed something in my multibeast install?

You need Rehabman's PS2 kext. See the guides he wrote.

Asus laptops are not so easy projects, did you get trackpad functionality? If it's I2C check out VoodooI2C, worked great to have basic trackpad functionality. The problem I still have in my laptop is sleep/wake closing the lid, and rebooting after deep sleep.
Also, you said you have an Nvidia 980m (mine has 960m), but isn't that not functional because of Optimus? I'm just keeping it disabled without drivers.
