Hello,
since I updated to Yosemite shutdown and reboot are not working any more. If I want to shut down the monitor gets black, so the OS is not on anymore, but the computer is still running and not turning off at all.
I have a ASUS p5g41t-m-lx motherboard and a core 2 quad q9300, 4gb of ram and a samsung SSD to run the OS.
In Mavericks everything worked after installing Easybeast but with the new Multibeast its not.

Any ideas?

Shutdown/Reboot Problem [SOLVED]

Hello Brice1502,
I am having the same issue on a GA-Z77 UD5H. The screen goes black and the system is down, but fans are still running and the shut down is incomplete. Did you solve the problem somehow? In BIOS I tried to set CPU PLL Overvoltage to disabled, but this led to a failure during the login in the OS X meaning i could not load my account anymore. I also tried to unplug the PSU switch it of and waited for some minutes before reconnecting and switching it back on, but that also did not help.

I did not have this problem in Mavericks and beside this (and iMessage of course) everything is working fine in Yosemite now.

Run the below command in terminal and check the assertions.

What are the USB devices connect to the system?

There is the mouse, the keyboard and a hub connecting the scanner, the camera and some Midi-keyboards. The hub has switches though and all the devices are powered off.

I once had a similar problem, when i first upgraded to Mavericks. Back then i could solve the problem by not using some of the SATA ports. I am using the white and grey SATA ports of the GA-Z77 UD5H and disabled the black ones. I tried if it helps to switch back to the former ones but that did not lead to changes this time.
