Thanks

Do you have something in log ? (use Console.app in Applications/Utilities/Console)

As far as I remember CCC will only clone your system partition, not the EFI partition.

Did you format it previously (GUID, HFS+ ...). Then you have to install Clover and finally you can add you custom files in EFI/... Now and only now you can use CCC to copy your system.

And for information, the config.plist is configured to boot a partition named "ElCapitan" after a 3 seconds timeout. you can easily change this.
Can you give me the original appleHDA.kext, sebinouse? I accidentally deleted it :O. thanks

I'm not home so I can't right now ... the best way to recover it is to download latest "El Capitan" from App Store, then right clic "show package content" and the explore until you find it (it is somewhere !).

Edit : post#188 you have a kext from 10.11.3.PB1

Here's what I have from the panic report. Seems like it's graphics related, but I'm way in over my head here. It panics everytime I try to shutdown/restart as well.

Yes it seems so !

Can you give us more details about your config ? (DP or HDMI or both, resolutions ...)

You can an alternative framebuffer and see if it's better : see post#55.

Thanks again Sebinouse. I'm using the miniDP to output to a Dell U3415W at 3440x1440. HDMI is not connected, and the BIOS settings are main display is DP, 2nd display to none, and min memory at 128MB. I'll try the other framebuffer and see if it helps, will report back.

*EDIT*
Unfortunately changing the SSDT-3.aml and min memory to 32MB didn't fix it - still insta-crash when the monitor turns off (such as putting to display to sleep as a hot corner)

You can try to :
- change BIOS settings to "auto"
- inject your EDID with Clover

No go on either, still panic. I connected the NUC to my LG 1080p TV using mini HDMI and it works ok without crashing, so it must be either the displayport or the Dell monitor. I'll try a mini DP to HDMI adapter on the TV, but if that works, I guess it's the Dell's fault.

*EDIT*
Further test results:
HDMI to TV (1080p) -> ok
DP to HDMI cable to TV (1080p) -> ok
DP to HDMI cable to Dell (1440p, 30hz) -> ok
DP to Dell (1440p, 60hz) -> panic

For now I'll use 1440p at 30hz.

For now I'll use 1440p at 30hz.

According Nuc's specifications, 60Hz might be the highest frame-rate achievable for 1440p ... (maybe in 24bit not 32bit for color)

The reason might be that we own a Haswell ULT (-U) processor. In this case CDCLK is limited to 450MHz, and UHD@60 requires 540MHz.

The limitation is only for thermal reason and according to Intel it should be achievable ... you can give a closer look to the performance settings in bios.

EDIT : there used to be a patch for pixel clock limitation on Yosemite ... I don't know if it's still relevant, maybe it worth a try. It seem to be buggy with DP ... be careful

@Sebinouse, today I noticed two things on my setup (and yours):

1. there are two fakesmc.kexts on EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS, one in 10.11 and one in OTHERS, from what I read on on the NET, CLOVER is loading only first is founding, in this case one from 10.11 directory, so my question what is for the other one from OTHERS ?
2. After a fresh install I forgot to run terminal script for audio and audio was working but was funky (not all the frequencies was there) so I look in terminal history to see if I run that script or not, not was the answer. So I run that scrip, restart, launch iTunes, listen and seems to be OK for a minute, but after quality drop like stream lower his kbps, then I look in Sound from System Preferences and clicked on headphones from output and on Internal Microphone from Input tab and quality increase instantly.

There is samething you experience ?

EDIT

On same testing I manage to make my sound to not drop on quality part with sound->input tab from system preferences open all time.

I forgot to mention I use 3.5 mm jack from front that is also for input and output, so it seems to input related , at least till now.

OK, sound is the ONLY part of the Sebinouse build that is not 100% now....

I have a 3.5mm audio splitter in the front port, giving me an Audio out and an Audio in. I have a microphone in the audio in and the out is connected to SoundSticks Amp.

If nothing is done, then I get Base booms every so often and if I open anything, I get bad interference.

However, if the Sound panel is open on Inout, as you have found above, then there is not interference or sound problems....

The same happens if I have QuickTime Audio open...

So I downloaded a free app, called Audio Recorder and keep this open in the background as a Startup item.... No sound problems....

Someone with much more programming experience than me, must be able to solve this with a line of code?

Very nice trick ! I have always failed to keep that codec alive !

If the solution rely on MIC maybe we should use codec-commander kext for node x19 and x21 in custom commands ...
