It is typical. And no, we don't understand why the graphics kexts do that.

I see. So I assume that I have patched it correctly. Now I got 2/3 problems solved. The only problem I have left now is internal graphics blank when boot with HDMI plugged. It doesn't happen on my other HP laptop ( I know they are so different), but I think it can be fix.
Now I know for sure this laptop DVMT-prealloc is 64mb, do you think modding the bios to change it to higher value will fix the problem? I hope I don't have to do so. But then what else can I try to implement this?

The only problem I have left now is internal graphics blank when boot with HDMI plugged.

Maybe EDID injection could help, or EDID override file.
But it is relatively common. Easy work around is to always hotplug.

Dear RehabMan,

I am back after a while. I have successfully updated to Catalina on my laptop.
Everything works well, except HDMI Audio. It was working fine on Mojave. I am attaching my debug with HDMI hot-plugged. Also, if I boot with HDMI plugged, both screen went blank (although the external monitor work when I was on Mojave). Please help with HDMI audio. Thank you very much.
