Hi,

first of all, I would like to thank all of you, who made my hackintosh possible!

I recently purchased this model here for 540 Euro (German website):

http://www.cyberport.de/hp-probook-...d-matt-ohne-betriebssystem-1C23-9ZR_1695.html

I replaced the Wifi card with a Broadcom BCM94352HMB and added a 256GB m.2 SSD. Yes, this notebook has an additional m.2 port (22x40)!

After following the instructions on the top of this forum I can report that Yosemite is working almost flawlessly. I used the recently added 4x0 G2 option in the installer and applied the 'IOBluetoothFamily - Continuity & Handoff' patch to make handoff work. The camera works out of the box, as well as speakers and mic. There is no whitelist in the bios and only one screwdriver is required to service the HDD, RAM, WIFI and m.2!

Remaining issues:
  • switching between internal speakers and headset does not work while the laptop is on, if you plug the headset in before start or wake up, it will be detected
  • some graphics glitches during startup (login window) and at the menu line (just the font sometimes looks weird)
  • the fan is running almost constantly at >3000rpm with CPU temperature sensors in the 40s, probably because the temperature thresholds are set too low, I would love to be able to adjust that (btw, under Ubuntu 14.04. on the same machine I experienced the same behaviour)

Things not yet tested:
  • HDMI out (both video and audio)

For less than 700 Euro you get a very fine and fast hackintosh!

Try setting a color profile.

Use one of the alternate fan patches in the DSDT patcher.

@fan patches:

I noticed in the file:

DSDT\ Generator/postinstall

of the HP Probook Installer Clover Edition that the following patches are excluded from the 4x0 G1 model:

03a_HDMI.txt
03b_1080p+HDMI.txt
04a_FanPatch.txt
04b_FanQuiet.txt

Looking at the rest of the code it looks as if these patches must have been already applied to my 4x0 G2 model. Does that mean:

1) that the FanQuiet modifications are already in effect and I should play around with the Fan Control Table of 04b_FanQuiet.txt

or
2) that I should adopt the strategy of the G1 model and avoid these patches, because they make it actually worse?

Thanks[h=1][/h]

If you feel the patches are not appropriate for your model, you should understand the background of them and do some research in RW-Everything on Windows: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/72043-new-fan-control-dsdt-silent-fan-higher-temps.html

I´ve ordered this beauty(K7J65ES#ABD, german model, it seems)! This is going to be my hack pro for the next few years and it has the potential of been a perfect beast for hackintosh: FHD, 8 hours battery life, extra M.2 ssd slot, full keyboard included numpad, no switchable dedicated graphic card, which will never work on os x, beautifully built, no wifi whitelist, etc.

In fact, it is a dreamed probook: no need to replace (traditional poor) displays, like with former 15 probook models, and therefore no need to worry about appropriate (double link) hp part number cables, and no need to replace DVD drive with a caddy for a second hard drives, because it already comes with an extra (empty) M.2 sata slot.

Sure, these U cpus are power efficient but not so powerful, but with this i5-4210U you have enough power for running Photoshop CC 2014 and oder power demanding apps, and sure for playing some games :)

It would be interesting to explore possibilities of replacing it with an i7, but...would that be worth the effort(and the money)? One possible candidate is the i7-4600U, which has intel HD 4400 graphics(other i7 cpus, which also fit in have hd 5000, so it makes no point)

Anyway, comparison is discouraging(advantages marginal):

Edit #1: well, it has a BGA, aka non replaceable CPU :(
