power supply to z77 mobo 24 pin cord 4 pin to short

Hello my motherboard has 24 pin connector that detaches and becomes 20 pin thee 4 pin according to the book for mobo is needed to plug in the 4 pin input on mobo but this connection is too short to reach to the 4 pin on other side

You need to use the 24 pin (20+4) for motherboard power, your power supply should have an additional 4 or 8 ping cable for cpu power. Of course people that read the rules and list their hardware will always get more informative answers.

i am using the 24 pin that can snap off to be 20 pin the 4 pin part can not reach where the book says the 4 pin connectors are... I am using corsair 430 with the z77-ds3h mobo

got it there was another cable that had 8 pin that snaps off thanks
