Why its so slow?

@killacam7478 , @tokugawamac , @nkoun

Did you guys ever find a solution for this?

I'm having the exact same problem with my 850 EVO 250GB SSD. Everything's good on the first round of the test, both read/write speeds are at ~500MB/s. After that, write speed drops to ~280MB/s while the read speeds are fine.

The drive is connected to Intel Sata 3 port. TRIM is enabled.

From userbenchmark

The 250GB Samsung 850 Evo has a similar architecture to its older, and hugely successful 840 sibling. Both drives utilize TLC NAND and both sport a high speed Turbowrite cache (TWC) which buffers up to 3GB of writes. The TWC enables high burst write speeds but when the cache exhausts speeds drop to 300 MB/s. Comparing the 850 and 840 Evos shows that effective speed, has improved by 11% and the warranty has been extended from three to five years but prices are also up by 11%. The 250GB 850 Evo does put in superb benchmarks (second only to the 850 Pro) but these are only valid within the TWC. Users looking for more consistent performance should look elsewhere. At current price levels the 850 Evo struggles to compete with the value leaders

Why its so slow?

If you Google "V300 SSDNow nand switching" you'll find out why. Those read and write speeds
are slower than a current Seagate / WD 1 TB mechanical HDD. Even if it only cost 45-50 dollars it's only about 1/10th of the storage of a 1 TB HDD for the same price. :confused:

PS: Thanks for the help SERGE2013

I have 2 Samsung 500GB SSD 850 EVO's in software raid as my boot disk. I get really good speeds.
