Hello everyone.
I am planning to build a i7 macx86 with relatively new components, so I did not find full information on all the parts. My potential setup is as follows:

Mainboard:
Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H
because it has a display port output capable of 2560x1600

CPU:
Intel i7-3770 IvyBridge
which should provide the graphic power over the HD4000 card

RAM:
2x8GB Corsair DDR3-1600
I read about the need of a 4 GB module during installation. Can I use one of another PC (also Corsair) and later change to this setup?

boot medium:
sandisk 120 GB SSD

power supply:
Corsair CMPSU-650 HX

Display:
Samsung S27A850D, 27''
which is connected via DisplayPort and runs at 2560x1440

I am a total beginner in the hackintosh field but have some experience in regular x86 (win7) builds. I started thinking this would be easy and straight-forward but upon research I found more and more users having problems with the DisplayPort, the resolution, the HD4000...
I don't have the funds to start small and get a reduced build to gain confidence. And the whole point is to get a fast system that will last for a few years.

Does anyone have experience with a build similar to this one? I took all the parts from the buyer's guide.

So I'd be glad for any help and opinions on this build.

cheers
joram

Search the user builds for your board. There are a few of them there. Look at what the builder did and what kind of teething problems were encountered and overcome (or not).
