pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Hey all! Merry Christmas!

I have noticed that my USB speeds are slow, I'm only getting 39Mb/s write or read speed, while on windows I get much more. I think my usb ports were done per this thread, I wonder what could be the problem? Here is my EFI attached.

Any help is much appreciated!

The USBports.kext looks fine. Try using Hackintool to test out the ports and make sure the USB3 ports are running at USB3 speeds.

The only port that behaves as USB3 is the front usb port. All USB ports on the back, including 3.1, providing only 480Mbps.

MacOS recognizes USB 3.1 in system info

What system definition are you using? The USBports.kext is only set up for iMac18,1, iMac19,1, and MacPro1,1.

In my config.plist I have MacPro1,1

I don't know why the kext is not working. Try creating your own with Hackintool. Delete the unused ports to stay within the 15 port limit.

Chef, could you please take a look on what I found out to make sure it looks they way it is intended? Because I'm a bit lost with my USB speed issue.

Here is a screenshot from USBmap, hackintool gives the same result.
Blue HS01, HS02, HS05, HS06, HS09, HS10 ports are the ports on the back, HS09 and HS10 are USB2 others should be USB3. PRT3 and PRT4 are the top red colored USB3 ports on the back. They are all controlled by AppleUSB20XHCIport controller, isn't it odd?

The only true USB3 is the SS03, which is front panel USB3 port. Other discovered ports are not used I guess.

I followed a couple of manuals online and I consistently getting the same picture, where USB3 ports just behave as 2.0

It looks right to me... Don't worry about the PRT ports. Those are on separate controller and are not counted towards the 15 port limit.
