Yes many words but not one say that M1 Pro/Max it is NOT new generation apple CPU.
This is the same M1 chip released a year ago but scalable so includes more cores.
For example Intel deliver i3, i5 or i7 CPU 10 th or 11 th Gen.
M1 , M1Pro , M1 MAX this is like i3 , i5 , i7 - this same gen CPUs.
So more cores but this same technology. We can adds more cores to one chip ok
(limited to TDP) .
Now new apple laptops with M1 Max use 140 W power supply which means that
cant increase number of cores any more. Next step must be next gen technology.
Intel released new technology year after year and maybe several dozen of new CPUs...
Another important issue is the price/performance ratio of processor.
We can compare processors with similar prices. But we dont known what
is the price of s M1 chip ( We can expected it to be higher than Intel's.
The First benchmarks 12 gen Intel i5-12600K - it is faster than i9-11900K.
And this is just a mid-range processor for consumers...
So if Apple wants to keep up Intel (or Nvidia) that must deliver new
technology year after year . Not only new CPU but new Gen CPU.
