I previously had OSX 10.10 Yosemite running with a Chimera bootloader. Originally it was using a Nvidia GTX 560, and with some work, and help from members of this community, I was able to upgrade the video card to a Nvidia GTA 960 using Nvidia web drivers.
Now I have upgraded to OSX 10.11 El Capitan. I did the install with my old GTX 560 card installed, using the 10.11 installation guide, now using CLover as the bootloader. I upgraded to 10.11.3 using software update. I then installed NVIDIA web drivers for OS X 10.11.3 (346.03.05). I rebooted and everything was working fine at full 1080p resolution. I cloned the drive to have as a backup and a base to work off of if I have any issues.
I then removed the GTX 560 and installed the GTX 960. When I boot up, my desktop is at a very low resolution and the Nvidia web drivers are not active. I tried setting the Nvidia web drivers to active (many times) but it just boots up to low resolution again.
I have tried adding nvda_drv=1 flag, but when i go that, I can't even boot, it will boot to a point but go to blank screen before reaching desktop.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you,
Matt
