Did you try to install driver with SIP on? People saying that helps.

I've never had problems installing the Nvidia web drivers and I've never had to do anything with my SIP settings. The only problem I've had is the crazy lag with the latest version of the web drivers.

Same with me. People say enabling the SIP settings would combat the lag. We need a volunteer who will try this approach! :D

This driver did cause black screen for me too. Reverting back to .106 using the method Fuximus suggested and works without problem.

This sounded like hocus pocus to me but I tried it anyway, just to debunk this fairy tale... Sure enough, I couldn't even boot in to Finder. I had to boot in safe mode and reinstall the web drivers. After reinstalling with SIP enabled, it still lagged like crazy.

Someone at NVIDIA is surely having a good laugh. I can't get to the root of this lag, everything seems the same in the system with 106 or 156. Except for the lag...

I see that we have aprox the same Video Card. Did you try to remove NVIDA + CUDA driver and installed them with SIP fully enabled ( 0x0 )?

When I've upgrade to 10.13.3 - I've encounter the same issue with 156 driver - I had SIP partially disabled. So I went to 106 driver and the lag disappeared. Yesterday I saw that a lot of people were telling that if you install the drivers with SIP f enabled - the lag will disappear. So as I stated before:
I've removed NVIDA + CUDA driver and installed them with SIP fully enabled ( 0x0 ).

All is working good now. I don't know if it does matter, but I have lilu + fake kext in the Other folder and two other for audio and lan.

Edit 1: I also updated Clover to the latest version available and I use the OsxAptioFix3Drv !

Seen quite a few try this now and report no difference.
It's becoming increasingly evident that the lag issue primarily only affects Skylake and newer systems.
It looks like the majority of the users that had problems with Nvidia before the recent updates also have Skylake+ variants
