EDIT:
this guide seems close, but isn't clear enough on methodology for a noob such as myself
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 60074.html
i used terminal to add the correct device ID as demonstrated in this guide
http://www.weezey.com/2011/10/os-x-lion ... x-570.html
and also installed the linked version of ATY_Init.kext, rebuilt with kext utility, and rebooted.
this gave me full resolution control, but i haven't run any benchmarking wares yet so i don't know to what extent everything is working. i think multibeast 4.1 includes openCL. when i first viewed the weezey guide, i followed it all the way through and it gave me a panic.
i suspect i still need a fix on graphics power management, and have no idea if i need to add the empty graphics mode string. also tried to intuitively edit org.chameleon.Boot.plist but still felt like i wasn't doing something right. have not repeated that portion of the weezey guide either. also, threw in the most current CUDA drivers for good measure.
any noob-friendly instructions to lend?

it's not "officially supported", but many people on this thread seem to get it working with minimal fix.
i should clarify that so far with the uni/10.7.2/multi4.1 method, the card works (did not have to disable graphics at any point)... no problems per se, but like others i'm stuck at the low resolution and assume i'm not getting full acceleration.
