Hello everyone,

I am planning on getting a good hackintosh since they cost a third of what a real mac costs.
However, I am not very experienced in this and could use some help from you experts.

Here is my current hardware-list: (Swedish words may occur, but you will hopefully know what components I mean)

1xCorsair Carbide 500R

1xCorsair PowerSupply (PSU) HX650 650W 80+ Gold

1xCorsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) (2x8GB)

1xEVGA GeForce GT 640 Dual Slot 2GB (02G-P4-2643-KR)

1xGigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH - ATX / Intel Z77 / DDR3

1xIntel Core i7-3770K - 8 trådar / 3,5GHz (3,9GHz Turbo) / 8MB / Socket 1155 (Boxed) (Upplåst) (77w)

1xSeagate Intern Hårddisk Barracuda 1TB (Cache 64MB / 7200RPM / Sata 6Gb/s) ST1000DM003

1xTP-Link TL-WDN4800

The questions I have regarding the setup is:
1.Will buying all these components be enough, or will I need to buy more stuff, for example wires?

2.How bad/good is the graphics card i chose? Would another be recommended? Yes, I do plan on gaming some.

3.I also want my system to run on a SSD, but where I am ordering from, the SanDisk Exreme isn't availible. Should i order it from somewhere else or could another good one (not to expensive) be recommended?

4. Is the motherboard I chose overkill? If so, which other motherboard could i have?

5. I wish to have one SSD for Mac OSX, and one or more harddrives. How many harddrives should i get if I want windows to be installed and have acces to a shared storage, for both Mac and Win? Is partitioning recommended?

6.Lastly, will this setup work?

I am eternally grateful to anyone who can give me some advice on this. I look forward to spending time in this forum and i hope to contribute to it. Thanks in advance!

Some questions to help you on your way...

1. Do you intend to use Thunderbolt technology within the next six months?
1B. Is this a purpose built machine with a Thunderbolt peripheral already in your purchase/budget plans?
1C. Are you able to tolerate the thought of paying for pricy cables to go with said Thunderbolt technology?

Other Z77 chipset boards may be better for you if you don't have a good vision of how you will use this technology (which is still quite young as far as standardization and adoption goes). I don't think having mini display monitor support is enough of a reason to adopt a TH board.

A SSD boot disk is a great idea. 120GB seems to be what many people are going for. I can't recommend where to buy one since you're probably in Europe, correct? In the US I've browsed two sites with good prices (newegg.com and outletpc.com).

SSD mostly for OS/booting and some applications that don't load all their resources at once. Conventional hard drive as a shared home for your documents and other software. Seems practical enough. :)

I can't make recommendations on anything else you've listed. Good luck!

1. No

2. I would recommend the new 660Ti, preferably the Galaxy since it's the quietest - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162120

3. I recommend the Samsung drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147163 but if you want even more performance then the intel drive is pretty much king http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167093 The price difference isn't too big so if you want maximum reliability go with Intel

4. Yea, it's overkill, especially if you don't need thunderbolt. For low end I would go Z77-DS3H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128547 and high end I would go the Z77X-UD5H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128545

5. It's recommended that you have a seperate hard drive for windows, but if you want to have one hard drive then install OSX and create a second partition in disk utility and make sure the format is FAT 32. I'd recommend a second hard drive because I've done it both ways and the second hard drive method is more reliable.

6.Yup it should be fine

I would suggest getting an after market CPU cooler just because it provides better cooling for when you put load on your CPU. Cooler CPU = Longer Life

Thank you guys for you opinions.
My current list of components looks like this: (picture) Skärmavbild 2012-08-19 kl. 09.58.16.png

Assuming all these components work well together in a mac, which i hope someone can help me and confirm, I am still missing a motherboard.
Which motherboard would be the most stable with this setup? I am currently looking at this one: GA-Z77X-UD5H. I am sure it will work, but how stable is it?

And just to check, I am planning on using my external USB soundcard for audio, has there been any issues regarding similar interfaces?

Thanks!
