Hello,

When I updated from 10.10 to 10.11 the sound of both mac os and windows disappeared. On both OS the sound devices are there and when I play something on youtube, the system shows that there is output sound, but nothing plays. I already tested the speakers and they are working. When I boot windows directly, without using the bootloader, it is still without sound. I even reverted to my past installation of the 10.10 and it's also without sound, but showing the devices, like the 10.11 and windows.

1. No sound since upgraded from 10.10 to 10.11. Windows 7 that had sound also doesn’t have sound anymore.

I see the devices (preference panes / sound / output) and they seem to work, but no sound comes out of the speakers. Devices showing :1 Internal speakers, 2 Line Outs, 1 Digital Out (this doesn’t work).

2. 10.11.2 / Gigabyte ga z77 ds3h / bios F9 / 3.4ghz intel core i5 / EVGA GeForce GTX 560 SE 1536MB

3. Unibeast / Multibeast 8.0.1 : selected ALC887/888b (see attachment)

11. Speaker: Genius SP-HF500A connected in the back green port of the motherboard

Thanks for the help!

No sound may be a hardware problem, if not:
IOReg shows no audio playing and 2nd Line Out selected; result, no audio
See Post #1/I. No Sound/1. Audio Outputs/1. Speakers
Configure your system exactly as described, reply with new files.

Here's the new IOReg. Did it exactly as you said. Do you need any other file?

First of all thanks a lot toleda for helping us out!
I tried my best in the last couple of days to get the audio working but no chance so far.

My system is Asus X99-A / 5820k / 10.11.2 / Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 / BIOS 2001 /
I'm using clover.

I tried everything from the realtekALC patch to VoodooHDA and so on.
I managed to get the devices in the audio pane, but I don't get any sound.

And I don't know if it's connected but iTunes won't start to play a song. I have to try with movie files.

Please find attached all the requested files.

I'm using simple Bose Speakers and they are connected to the green rear port. That port worked under my previous Yosemite install (I did a clean fresh install).

Thank you in advance!
