I've spent the day on this, after two clean installs.
@pastrychef your suggestion did not work on my machine :(
Anyway, thanks for reaching out!

Your codec is ALC S1220, not ALC 1220A
Correct MultiBeast settings, see High Sierra - MultiBeast Audio/300 Series/ALC1220
See MultiBeast 10.2 Note.
Run Multibeast twice with selections noted
Restart, reply with new files

On the second clean install, audio worked after restart and everything else the guide said, but it was very noisy. So I ran Multibeast again (4th time) and after restarting again, everything seems to be fine.

Toleda, would you take a look at my files? Just to be certain everything is in place. A million thanks!

Remove one or the other:
a. config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Item 0 (Rename HDAS to HDEF)
b. EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-HDEF-HDAS-1.aml

macOS does not see the audio codec.
Verify BIOS/..../Onboard Devices/HD Audio/Enabled

Audio is enabled in BIOS and is working on Windows.
