Hey guys.

I had a look at the PC parts guide for Yosemite and it seems like I've got a good build for it.

Here's my build:
  • Gigabye Z97-SOC-Force Link
  • Intel Quad Core 4.0GHz i7-4790k
  • GALAX GeForce 980 SOC Link
  • Kingston Beast 16GB RAM
  • 256 Kingston SSD (For Yosemite)
  • Another SSD with Windows on it.

I've installed UniBeast on a 16GB USB and when I boot to install, I get a kernel panic every time. I've tried GraphicsEnabler=No, nv_disable=1, -x, -s, and -v doesn't give me any readable information.

Anyone else have this build? Should I be using a different installation method?

To get any kind of help you'll need to elaborate on your kernel panic.
Boot with -v and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

I just ran a quick Search and there is a successful build using a similar board to yours - Link

Good Luck

Here's the -v log:

Thanks for the link to the guide, I'm looking at it now to see the drivers I need later on.

Yosemite doesn't boot with this guides boot args. I'll keep trying!

Thanks.

UPDATE: I have no idea why the image is flipped...

Looks like a graphics problem.
Make sure VT-d is disabled in your BIOS.
It might be best to install using your integrated graphics rather than your graphics card.
Use a digital connection to your monitor - VGA is not supported.

Please read the Rules.

Profiles need to contain at least your primary system to assist others with helping you
This is so that people don't have to scroll back to Post #1 just to see what you have.

Thanks in anticipation

Cheers.

I'm still getting a panick.

I'm using my integrated graphics and disabled my 980.

VT-d is also disabled in BIOS.

Any suggestions? :/

OK, that's a deadbeef error (not entirely unexpected) - Use Search for info.

Try adding maxmem=4096 to your boot flags
or -no-zp
or maxmem=4096 -no-zp
or maxmem=8192
or maxmem=8192 -no-zp

Good Luck

I've managed to get to the installer (using the 980 with integrated disabled) using boot arg: nv_disable=1.

Really confused.

Going to keep going and see what happens.

Build successful! Use nv_disable=1 to boot using nvidia card.

Install normally, boot with USB into the completed install using nv_disable=1 again.

Use multibeast to the settings of the other post:

f. Start up MultiBeast and choose the following settings: (6.4.1)Quick Start > DSDT Free
Drivers > Disk > 3rd Party SATA
Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.9.4 TRIM Patch
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307 Plugins
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307 HWMonitor Application
Drivers > Misc > USB 3.0 - Universal
Drivers > Network > Atheros > KillerEthernet 1.03
Drivers > System > AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset
Bootloaders > Chimera v3.0.1
Customize > Boot Options > Basic Boot Options
Customize > Boot Options > Hibernate Mode - Desktop
Customize > Boot Options > IGPEnabler=No
Customize > Boot Options > Use KernelCache
Customize > Boot Options > 1080p Display Mode
Customize > System Definitions > iMac > iMac 14,2
Customize > Themes > tonymacx86 Black

MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF Customize > Boot Options > Generate CPU States
This is important since if you generate CPU states, TurboBoost will prevent your Hackintosh from booting. You need to either turn this off or turn TurboBoost off.

Install the Web Drivers from Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/82983/en-us

Reboot.

If graphics still looks a bit choppy, change the nvidia driver in the System Preferences panel to the Web driver.

All sorted. :)

Just need iMessage working and I'm good to go. :)
