Alright. Here's what I did:

1. Removed that usb kext
2. Ran DPCIManager
3. Rebuilt cache where there were no errors
4. Rebooted.
5. Ran Multibeast (success)
6. Checked IOREG. The layout-id seems correct now. 01-00-00-00
7. Checked About This Mac/../Software/Extensions, no AppleHDA
8. Checked S/L/E, AppleHDA is present.
9. Checked system preferences. No output devices other than the Apple TV

No audio.

Attached archive containes new ioreg, new console log, software/extensions screenshot. You're the man BTW, I feel like we're close. (dsdt attached too)

Same problem, something is seriously broken.
Boot with UseKernelCache=No -v
Make an IOReg.
Check About This Mac/../Software/Extensions, make screenshot
If no audio, run the 10.8.5 Combo Update, do not install audio. Restart
Make another IOReg
Check About This Mac/../Software/Extensions make screenshot
Reply with screenshots and IORegs

Should we post in another thread or in this one? Anyways, I installed the combo update, installed with DSDT ALC 889, rebooted, and my audio is greyed out. I have attached all the files as per the first post. I appreciate any help you can give me (fixing the audio is usually very simple after an update; I have no clue what is happening). I've seen that some are having audio problems over on the apple website too.

Ran 10.8.5 again over existing installation. Attached is screenshots and ioreg from before and after. Also included is the system.log which I think contains the readout from -v? I didn't see a kernel.log

the Interim solution not working with 10.8.5 update...
To clarify, 10.8.5/Interim is not working on your system.
Confirmed: 10.8.5 Combo Update/Interim AppleHDA.kext is working.

You have confirmed native AppleHDA.kext does not work. This indicates the problem may not be repairable.

If you have a 10.8.4 backup, restore, confirm audio, remove S/L/E/GenericUSBXHCI.kext, apply 10.8.5 Combo Update, no MB/audio, restart and reply with IOReg.
