Mountain Lion HDMI Audio

No surprise. Updating OS X always replaces AppleHDA.kext. You have the native 10.8.2 AppleHDA installed. Install the appropriated edited AppleHDA.kext from ML: Optimized Realtek AppleHDA - Preview/Alpha.

I just wanted to check. Am I installing both the AppleHDA.kext and the HDAEnabler1.kext, or just the AppleHDA.kext?

HDMI Audio doesn't work when the enabler is installed.

I read some of the other recent posts around AppleHDA version, and tried replacing it, which seemed to make all audio disappear, then I realized I had a permissions issue, which I fixed. Then I realized I needed to have my layout-id set to 3 instead of 1, and when I did that, it fixed everything...I finally have HDMI audio and analog (with SPDIF appearing, although I didn't try using it yet).

It does not work in Lion. I don't know of anyone that has tried the 550 ti in ML.
