So it is a AR5B195 card with a AR5008 wifi chip and a AR3002 (?) bluetooth chip.. like on the photo attachments.

AR5B195 should have AR9285, not AR5008. Your card is mislabeled or defective.

I thin I'm going to give it back and buy another chip. any suggestions? the BCM94352HMB is too expensive here.. http://www.ebay.de/itm/867Mbps-Broa...ng_Interne_Netzwerkkarten&hash=item418093fee0

Yes, expensive... but fast...

Look for a real AR9285 (AR5B195) or if you don't need BT (BT on AR5B195 is poor anyway), go for an AR9280 (AR5BHB92) which has better WiFi speeds (5Ghz) than AR9285 and is recognized by OS X OOB.

As a last resort, I will install Windows XP and see if card works there. Otherwise I will send it back and look for either the expensive one or again an atheros.. thank you and good night

UPDATE: Couldn't install Windows XP, maybe too many scratches on the cd.. I gave up on this and just sent the card back. Trying with another card.

I ordered another AR5B195 and am looking for a BCM943225 and a the more expensive BCM94352. I tested the bluetooth on the one card I had and found it not so good because it disconnected occasionally.

Anyway, what I recently noticed when going through the pci list in dpci manager is this (screenshot attachment). There is no SMBus driver and I wanted to know if it can be patched by simply applying the 'SMBus fix' in MaciASL.. or the 'add SMBus' patch.

Is there a difference between the two patches? Is the patch necessary at all? Or beneficial? I'm curious because I have a card reader that's not working (RTS5209 PCI Express Card Reader in dpci manager [attachment 2]]) and read about it having to do with the missing smbus controller driver.

Honestly, I do not know the purpose of the SMBUS patch. But it is used commonly. It will not add any PCI device to the list (only devices actually present will be shown). I doubt it will help your card reader work. Most card readers on PC laptops do not work due to no support by the drivers.

Hmm.. okay. When I click on the little magnifier icon it points me to S/L/E/AppleSMBusPCI.kext.

Anyway, I just found this on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=331200672713&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:DE:1123

Azurewave AW-CE123H 802.11ac/nbg WiFi+BT Broadcom BCM94352HMB 867Mbps Bluetooth 4.0 AW-CE123H

Is it the card we talked about earlier? The 'expensive one with super fast speed' wifi and bt 4.0? In this case, http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html should cover it, right? :)

BCM4352HMB WiFi is supported with simple device-id injection or injector kext.

I don't know about BT as I don't use it.

I just received my AR5B195 and installed it. Both BT + WiFi work now! :D For some reason the bluetooth showed as 'Hawlett Packard' but after installing IOath3kfrmwr.kext it's Qualcomm Atheros.

When BCM94352HMB arrives, I will report again.

Thank you RehabMan!

PS: I have no bluetooth disconnections with this card.

hello there! :D I just received my BCM94352HMB. Wifi/Airport worked without me installing any extra kext, just the one I had installed for Atheros AR5B195, toledaARPT.kext.

1. What if I want to apply the SSDT patch for my new card? Do I use AMI 6 or AMI 7/8? what is this anyway..? :$

2. Do I benefit from 5Ghz patch? I tested the speed and is already faster than my previous card(s).

Thank you. :)
