I don't know. It does not have the AR9285 device-id (168c:2b).

You could try adding your device-id to toledaARPT.kext/Contents/Info.plist and see what happens.

Like this...?

Nope. Didn't work. Is there a step I'm missing? I just hit the + button in the network setting and look for the adapter but nothing shows up for the card. And I check system infromation>WLAN for Airdrop device.

I made a photo of the card.. it's a Atheros AR5B195 card..

Did you install your changed kext, repair permissions, and rebuild cache?

If still not working, it is likely your card is defective ...

You should test on Windows or Linux to verify.

I'm installing Windows right now. What confuses me is that there are so many different numbers. On the card itself itself it's AR5B195, in dpci Manager I see a Device AR5008, ebay site showed different numbers...

The Bluetooth Device is getting recognized unter System Information > usb hub. But I didn't try it yet, wifi first.

I will report when Windows is installed

Installed Windows 7 64bit. I see an 'ethernet controller' and a 'generic bluetooth' device in device manager. When looking for drivers with a 'driver software' it again showed me AR5008. Well I can't get it working, no driver worked for me. :(

But what does that mean? What card do I have? AR5008? AR5B195? is there any difference? I will try with Linux/Windows XP but for now that's all I can report...

AR5B195 indicates a reference design for a card with AR9285 WiFi + AR3011 Bluetooth.

AR5008 is probably the WiFi associated with device-id 168c:ff1c. Your device is not an AR9285 or is a broken one. It could be that someone screwed with the EEPROM data and couldn't undo it.

See here for more details on programming the EEPROM on certain Atheros cards: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/115110-rebranding-atheros-928x-cards-guide.html

So it is a AR5B195 card with a AR5008 wifi chip and a AR3002 (?) bluetooth chip.. like on the photo attachments.

I thin I'm going to give it back and buy another chip. any suggestions? the BCM94352HMB is too expensive here.. http://www.ebay.de/itm/867Mbps-Broa...ng_Interne_Netzwerkkarten&hash=item418093fee0
