I'm looking to build two hackintoshes: a HackPro and a HackMini. For the mini I will be using it as a media centre playing videos to my monitor and to a projector so I'd need dual video out. I noticed that a build on Lifehacker used a discontinued Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3 LGA1155 Mini-ITX Motherboard that had a built in video card. I'm not looking for super crunching processing power: I only need to play videos and run a few standard programs like safari, front row like media browser and handbrake (rip speed is not important for me). I would like to keep the expense down as low as possible so a motherboard, cpu, ram and chassi (and maybe wifi) is all I really want. I'd also like to be able to put Mountain Lion on it.

So I have two questions. Could someone recommend a suitable MB with a builtin video card and will the built in card be able to handle HD video play back?

Thank you.

Chances are the motherboard doesn't have built-in GPU, it just says so.

Low end? well then:

Follow the Budget Build (First one) and downgrade the CPU to a i3-2100

And the B75M-D3P - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128555&Tpk=b75m-d3h

That's about as low as it gets, and if you're on that low of a budget, then http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/43721-295-povomac-cheapest-hackintosh-ever.html

My faith in motherboard manufacturers has been crushed.

Another quick question then. I have an old ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 246 Mb card from a 3,1 Mac Pro. As this card works on a Mac Pro, is it safe to assume it will work in a Povomac?

That should be correct, and like you said since it was in a Mac Pro it should basically be working OOB

You'll want an i3-2105; the 2100 doesn't have onboard video, while the 2105 has Intel HD 3000 video, which should be more than sufficient for what you're wanting to do with it.

But he'll be going with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 246 Mb which should theoretically work since it was in the Mac Pro 3,1

But just to be safe I agree you should spent the extra $15 just in case you ATI doesn't work. I didn't know that the i3-2105 came with HD3000, because I shop at Micro Center.
