Yeah I got the installer to work and load, its installing the kexts and DSDT so it does not have to boot off the USB drive. I do not want clover.

Ok, so I am helping a buddy of mine install Mavericks on his Aspire 5750. When we install Mavericks, the computer does not recognize the HDD (Says it cannot detect a bootable drive). We are using this guide:

We do not want to go the clover route because he does not have a large enough HDD (60GB).

Any suggestions?

Why do you not want to use Clover? It offers many more benefits and is a lot easier to install/maintain IMO.
If it is because of your 60GB HDD then Clover only needs a separate partition of 200MB which is the EFI partition.
Check my guide it's had over 50,000 views, and is pretty stable and easy.

+1

People with UEFI support that are not using Clover are making a mistake not using Clover.

The only issue I have is that step one says install windows then linux, and with limited room on the SSD, that would be less than ideal to do, since space is precious.

There is no need to install Linux, and I don't believe that is what post #1 says (it appears to be running Linux from USB). Same goes for Windows -- dual boot would be a personal choice.
