motherboard: GA-Z97X-UD3H), should i edit dsdt with MaciASL?
EDIT: i want to enable audio via DP, not HDMI!
Yes. DP audio uses the same method as HDMI audio
See Post #1, v2 Mavericks HDMI Audio Guides

  1. Select the matching processor graphics/motherboard series
  2. AMD/Nvidia HDMI audio installed with every Desktop configuration

I have it working again. I needed to run the updated audio_hdmi_hd4600-hda-90_v2_patch.command script.

I'm very grateful for all your time, thank you.

Ok, i followed the guide until i patched the DSDT with clean compile and intel 4600 HD AMD nVidia A1, but i got these compile errors:

12289, 1099, Unknown reserved name (_HRV)
18202, 1099, Unknown reserved name (_WDG)

What's the problem?

EDIT: sorry, these were just warnings! Now it works perfectly, thanks a lot!!!

Hi Toleda !

I've been using your SSDT / CloverKextPatch to get audio through HDMI on my NUC (HD5k) and it work so far ! Thanks a lot ;)

I've also been digging into framebuffers for my HD5K "0x0a260009" and it works perfectly with "0x0a26000a " framebuffers.

But in your "audio_ssdt-hdmi-nuc_hd5k-1_v2-2" you injected "0x0D220003" and I didn't manage to modify and compile it without errors ("Error 4090 - Existing object has invalid type for Scope operator (_SB.PCI0 [Untyped])").

So for the time being I am able to get HDMI audio OR right frame buffer ... but not both !

Can you explain me how to modify it or compile to for me ? thanks a lot !

MaciASL/SSDT-1 compiles, verify ACPI 5.0
You hex is not correct, 0D220003 and 0x0300220D are correct.
The framebuffers noted are not valid.
0x0000260A, 0x0500260A, 0x0600260A, 0x0800260A are valid and include LVDS, not needed
only 0x0000260A has an HDMI connector and it is on Port 0x6, won't work.

Hi, I have been fighting to get HDMI audio back on machine (OSX 10.9.5) see http://www.tonymacx86.com/hdmi-audio/142954-no-hdmi-audio-gtx650-ga-z77-ds3h.html. I have turned off DSDT in MultiBeast to extract my DSDT directly. I followed these guides:

1. [Guide]_HD4000-hdmi_audio_(dsdt_or_ssdt)_v2.pdf.zip
2. [Guide]_Nvidia-hdmi_audio_v2.pdf.zip

and installed these two patches:

1. AMI-Clean_Compile-7series
2. AMI-HD4000-AMD-Nvidia-A3

I have done a Combo Update and I have not edited my .kext files. I have attempted using DSDT and SSDT. I currently am working on the DSDT route. One thing I haven't noted is that I've been compiling with ACPI 4.0, as ACPI 5.0 threw a few errors. TV is "yes" in system report. Please help. This is my family's media center and we cut the cord several years ago.

[edit]: Could another possible problem be in the BIOS? I found a couple things in my manual... I have my Init Display set to PEG.

    • Init Display First
Specifes the frst initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card, PCI Express graphicscard, or the onboard graphics.
Auto Lets BIOS automatically configure this setting. (Default)
IGFX Sets the onboard graphics as the first display.
PEG Sets the PCI Express graphics card on the PCIEX16 slot as the first display.
PCI Sets the graphics card on the PCI slot as the first display.

    • Audio Controller
Enables or disables the onboard audio function. (Default: Enabled)
If you wish to install a 3rd party add-in audio card instead of using the onboard audio, set this item toDisabled.

Nothing happens when turn off dsdt in MultiBeast.
Boot with boot flag DSDT=NULL to extract native dsdt.
Guides are correct.
The attached dsdt compiles no errors with ACPI 5.0
Has HDMI audio worked previously?
What is the HDMI device?
Is there a reason 887 onboard audio is not enabled?

Sorry, I guess it just didn't compile at one step, but the final file must be ok.

HDMI audio was working previously. I don't think I had any problems as I installed it last December and I have no posts during that period.

The HDMI device is a Sony AVAMP Receiver.

No reason I haven't enabled the onboard audio. Should I try this in MultiBeast?

Please look at the edits on my last post. You posted this in the middle of my edits. I wonder if I messed up a setting in my BIOS.

Init Display set to PEG.
PEG first is fine with IGFX disabled. Audio must be enabled.
Suspect AppleHDA.kext is damaged. Install native AppleHDA.kext and restart.
Reply with the installed AppleHDA.kext and new IOJones.
