Hi,

Almost everything is now ok with my new setup of Mavericks. Unfortunately there is this one thing that makes it impossible to use OS X as a main system - freezies.

My system freezies every couple days (it even hanged 2 times one day). When it happens, all I can do is move the mouse. There is no spinning wheel or anything. There is no reaction for the mouse clicks. It happens in various situations, mainly when I use Safari or Chrome. Recently it happened while a flash video was playing.
In order to get my laptop working again I have to hold the power button and restart it.

I installed Mavericks (10.9.4) using Clover guide. I didn't instal any extra kexts, only used Probook Installer Clover Edition to install all the necessary modifications.

Today I checked the Console after the freeze and here is what I got:

I think that the most interesting is the "14.07.2014 16:00:28,000 kernel[0]: **** Debug info for *possible* hang in MAIN graphics engine ****" line.

Have yo got any ideas of how to fix it?

Was your 10.9.4 a genuine Mac App Store download?

How much 3rd party software loaded?

I have only installed Chrome.
I also had Flash Player plugin, but I removed it, because I thought that it could be a reason of the freezing.

Also,

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Here is my IOReg: View attachment 99165

I've also added a signature.

Since my last post I had another freeze, this time a log is longer (maybe that's because I didn't restart my laptop as fast as before): http://wklejto.pl/206899

These "*possible* hang in MAIN graphics engine" freezes sometimes happen on my system as well. They're caused by an application misbehaving, e.g. an old version of Civilization 5 game used to hang my system (leaving that output in the system log) but thankfully they fixed it.

You need to carefully monitor which application is being used at the moment of a freeze. This way you'll be able to localize the cause.

I only have Chrome installed now and freezies happen even when I just use Safari.

Have you found anything interesting in that IOReg file? By the way, I haven't experienced any freeze for 3 days now (but I haven't used my laptop a lot recently)
