High Sierra! HDMI audio through RX 480!

Supported Feature set OSX GPUFamily1 v2? I'll take it, real sound through RX 480 HDMI, Intel is VGA cable.

Pentium G3258 with RX 460 HDMI Audio!

Geekbench score for RX 460 is vey low 30,000, RX 480 is normal 130,000. Audio working for both RX 460/Pentium G3258, and for RX 480 i5 6500. Rx 480 is listed correctly now in Geekbench, RX 460 as Baffin Compute engine. I will pu the RX 460 in the i5 6500 setup later to confirm. Check out the 3rd pic the Pentium is listed as Intel GT1 this High Sierra is getting more like Windows 10 in that it is reading hardware to optimize drivers and configure system. This could get scary if it ends up just like Windows 10, if you change a spark plug you get a error warining and it needs an update for the fresh plug that is installed.

@jerry12345. IMsite has a Vega running on a 6900k as primary display but only has one port working. Dedicated GPU Vega, yes this could be nice!

I'm definitely eyeing a Vega RX card (64 or 56 edition-- like we're seeing in iMac Pros equipped with Xeons, which is promising for support) as my next card if the price is right (half of FE or lower) and compute performance is as expected (FE is strong here).

I'm dying for an AMD card that actually improves on my OC 290 in compute (gaming bonus is a bonus, but I don't game much) that also has DP + HDMI 2.0 so I can drive a 4K monitor via DP and 4K TV @ 4k60 4:4:4 over HDMI (R9 only does 4k30 via HDMI 1.4... even though TV has 2.0; I"m using DP for the ACD 27").

Most importantly: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a native solution that doesn't require iGPU or a helper card in High Sierra! I'm still on El Cap because AFAIK nobody has a good way to run AMD 290 or 480/580 without iGPU or helper.

.

This will be nice if Vega does have dedicated graphics support. The screenshots show no igpu and it's a 6900k so this is promising, very promising. I'm seeing the new "Metal" Supported MacOS GPU 1v2 and have HDMI audio now in dev beta 2-3 it's promising. I tried dedicated graphics mode and got black screen but I need to test further with different ports I only used HDMI.

I have functional sound over DisplayPort. Didn't have a chance to try HDMI yet.
