macOS 12.1 Update

As a few are posting their success with the Monterey release, I thought I'd throw mine into the ring as well although I didn't expect any problems as I had success with all the Betas prior to this release.

New built: Gigabyte Z590 AORUS ELITE, i7-10700K, DDR4-3600 32GB, RX 580 8Gb, OC 0.7.6

No issue to upgrade.

No issues at all, with OC 0.7.6, from BigSur 11.6.1, ~30minutes, everything working as expected even the i-225v with the same patch used under BigSur.

I had to change SecureBootModel value from Disabled to the one corresponding to my SMBIOS profile in order to see the update. Once the update started downloading, I changed the value back to Disabled.

Look at restrictevents.kext and corresponding boot arguments.

I had to change SecureBootModel value from Disabled to the one corresponding to my SMBIOS profile in order to see the update. Once the update started downloading, I changed the value back to Disabled.

Setting it to "Default" should also do the trick.

Updated OC 0.7.4 to 0.7.6 and installed the update without issues. This was my first OC update after a long holdout with Clover. It's not bad but a little more involving.

Updated on a test drive... Samsung hard disk, no trim issues. Very slow update, but not ready to make Monterey a daily OS so a spare old HDD for now.

Started this morning with a BIOS update to my new mod, Asus Prime A320I-K paired with a Ryzen 1 1700 and RX 560. First installed Big Sur 11.5.2, then updated directly to 12.1, under 1/2 an hour to get back to desktop, Amazing!.
