macOS 10.15.1 Update

I had quite a lot of difficulty updating to 10.15.1 but got there in the end

I have a 4790K system running on an MSI Gaming 3 motherboard with Radion RX 580 graphics. It's been through at least a couple of major OSX version updates and a few hardware configuration changes. The update would reboot a couple of times, then hang and reboot back into 10.15.0.

My solution:

Update Lilu, WhatEverGreen and AppleALC using KextBeast
Back up and clean out old drivers and kexts from Clover (see https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...th-macos-catalina-version.284903/post-2015881)
Update Clover using Clover Configurator (I used version 5097)
Start update and add agdpmod=pikera on install boot (update still hangs without)

No issues after the update.

because it is not ready yet
Any suggestions when it will be released? I'm not in a hurry, already updated successfully to 10.15.1. Just wanted to know when I'll be able to do a clean reinstall because of some minor issues.

the home page will be updated when it is released

You can do a clean install now, just copy across all the files from your EFI partition on your hack to the EFI partition on the USB

Finally got mine updated! Turns out that while Clover Configurator shows the most recent versions of Lilu and Whatevergreen, it actually downloads the previous versions. This was giving me a boot loop until I actually installed the latest versions manually.

All is good now!

Still rockin my oldie but goodie MSI X99.... Performance seems to be pretty good on a fresh install of Catalina 10.5.1 :headbang:

Looks like outdated packages. Remove existing Filevault drivers and replace them with AppleGenericInput.efi and AppleUiSupport.efi from https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleSupportPkg/releases/tag/2.0.9

Also remove FakeSMC and replace it with VirtualSMC.efi and VirtualSmc.kext

Thanks that worked and fixed the problem and I saw your other post on this issue here-> https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/filevault-2-preloader-takes-long-time.285306/#post-2021475

This is what UEFI looks like now:
ApfsDriverLoader.efi AppleUiSupport.efi OsxAptioFixDrv.efi
AppleGenericInput.efi FSInject.efi VirtualSmc.efi
(and replaced FakeSMC.kext with VirtualSmc.kext from https://github.com/acidanthera/VirtualSMC/releases)

Should I also replace OsxAptioFixDrv.efi with FxRuntimeServices.efi?

The description on the AptioFixPkg page ( https://github.com/acidanthera/AptioFixPkg ) makes it sound like this has replaced AptioMemoryFix.efi and the way I look at it AptioMemoryFix.efi is the newest version of OsxAptioFixDrv.efi - but my board is older and this works, so if it ain't broke do I need to fix it?
