This update wrecked my Hackintosh as it kernel panics at start up.

I was able to use iBoot to get it to the login screen but none of my USB devices work. I was able to connect via File Sharing so all is not lost.

Will update you guys as soon as I finish copy some files over.

If you're not using a DSDT, run the USBFamily Rollback in MultiBeast, and all we be fixed. ;)

GA-X58A-UD5 with i7-980x

Installed.
Reboot.
No Sound.
Multibeast - Advanced options - Kexts - Audio - LegacyHDA - ALC887/888b.
Reboot.
Sound

One thing I am curious though, what is the AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback option for?

I know what it does, but who needs the option?
That option is for rolling back the AppleHDA after doing an upgrade like 10.6.5.

When you chose LegacyHDA -> ALC887/888b you installed the rollback and Legacy888bHDA again.

Nope. Oh, for anyone interested, 10.6.5 is the same build (10H574) as the last beta Developer build.

Realizing that the network settings seem to be functioning, I was able to use Screen Sharing from my Mac mini to take control of the mouse and keyboard. Logged in and ran Multibeast. After resetting, I was no longer able to boot through either iBoot DVD or by itself. An updated iBoot disc solved that issue and USB seems functional again. Unfortunately, the computer will no longer be able to boot without the iBoot DVD.

works fine ;-)

1. backup
2. test backup (boot from it)
3. update to 10.6.5
4. reboot (with no sound)
5. Multibeast -> AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback
6. reboot - with sound :D

Downloaded the Combo Update from (removed link) sadly, it wont work, as soon as it finishes installing and asks me to reboot, it will just log me out and wont do anything else.

The Software Update now seems to do the same thing...

Any ideas?
