I can do that later. Why did big donkey not need to do that though to get it?

Edit- looking at the other kext edit guide. How do I tell what to edit for HDMI? Take the third line of the one that applies?

Never mind BigDonkey explained. I'll do it later. Thanks for the assistance.

EDIT: got it. Thanks!

Sorry for the noob question: Will I get Audio via HD3000 - DisplayPort, if I make HDMI audio work, using tony's instructions?

Have to use DisplayPort, because this is the only port of my mb (GA-Z68X-UD3H) that outputs the resolution of 2560x1440 of my screen (Dell Ultrasharp U2711).

Update: This is such a shiny day!! Just did, what Tony mentioned in his blog post and Display Port Audio started working after the reboot!! You guys really rock!!

Did your on board audio work previously? If so, which method?
Your system looks right, exactly like mine.
Try powering your system down, unplugging power cord, wait 1 minute, replug, reboot.

yup, work with another kext. but no HDMI in prefer panel...

may I try your appleHDA.kext 10.7.2 patch? maybe work for me.. :)

one thing: I got this message on boot

DSMOS has arrived
DRMStatus: iTunes/Apple Store Content Access Problem. Content playback may be disabled on this computer. You can continue to use the machine, but you should contact an Apple support representative. ErrorCode: 8877652

what is that means?

thanks

Looks like you are using the original HD3000 HDMI audio AppleHDA.kext. The microphone showing up as an output has been solved. The new AppleHDA.kext is in the CustoMac Mini Tuneup Kit V4 available at http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?p=209915#p209915. For your system, install only the AppleHDA.kext. You also need to make the following edit to your dsdt. DSDTSE/HDEF/layout_id change to 0x85 0x01 0x00 0x00. The layout_id for HD3000 HDMI audio is now 389/185 hex.

Regarding the iTunes error, I've never seen that. Perhaps you moved iTunes DRM content to this machine.
