I have been experiencing a kernel panic/reboot loop after installing an EVGA GTX 750Ti (FTW). I have tried disabling the Nvidia graphics drivers using the "nv_disable=1" boot arg, but that has not worked. I am only able to successfully boot and get to the desktop using Safe Mode.

I was able to get the crash report from the Apple Crash reporter; I have included that below.

I am not sure at this point what else to do! :banghead:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like you use the MacPro4,1 system definition without deleting AppleTyMCE.kext.

It checks for ECC RAM on boot and will KP if you use non-ECC RAM.

How would I know if I have non-ECC RAM?

I have Crucial installed, I think it is Ballistix version.

How would I find the kext you mentioned also?

You do not have ECC Ram installed. That would only be used with a Xeon processor.

There is no reason to use MacPro4,1 as your system profile. You would do much better with an iMac one or if you must use MacPro then use MacPro3,1. I would recommend iMac14,2.

If I switched the system profile, would that eliminate the need to remove kexts? Or is that something that might need to be done anyway?

Thanks!

If you switch to MacPro3,1 or iMac14,2 you will not need to modify or remove any stock kext.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately MultiBeast fails when I try and change the system profile. It says the following

I am using MultiBeast 8.1.0. Where can I find the log file that is referenced in the screenshot shown above?

There is no Multibeast item or folder located in Library/Logs.

It is much easier to use Clover Configurator to change the System Profile.

Ok so I have Clover Configurator downloaded and I've figured out how to change the system profile, but I haven't figured out how to make the change permanent. Is there some kind of guide on how the utility works? Or what is the best way to use the tool to make the change?

I am going to change the system profile to iMac 14,2.

You have to make sure that you mount your EFI partition. Once the partition is mounted click on the home icon on the lower left of the configurator. Then you will see three file paths for config.plist, choose the one that is at /EFI/Clover/config.plist. The window will reload and then make the changes to the system profile under the SMBIOS tab.
