Hi guys,
I'm sure you've seen thousands of these posts so for that I am sorry.

I tried installing Mac OS X on my pc a little while ago and it really f***** everything up and I had to reinstall everything and I had to reinstall the firmware on my motherboard. It was a total mess.

I could really do with a helping hand. If I need to change some of my specs I can do, obviously I'd rather not but if I do then I do.

I have the same processor as you, but slotted into a cheap MSI P61 based motherboard, and it's fine. Works perfectly, and is plenty fast enough.

You must set your SATA devices to be AHCI, not IDE.

Installing OS X should not have caused the problems you describe with your motherboard. Are you sure it's not faulty? I had a Gigabyte mobo that turned out to be faulty and it exhibited some of the symptoms you've had.

FWIW, I've installed OSX using the qlover Note, Clover Configurator, and Multibeast.

I retraced my steps and it was because I reset everything to try and fix it and that was what caused me to have to reinstall the mobo firmware. What version of OSX are you using and am I able to update from Snow Leopard to Mavericks? I don't have a Mac so I assume that I'll have to start at Snow Leopard and go up from there?
