iTunes HD content not working on my ivy Hackintosh

You CANNOT play purchased HD movies from iTunes to external monitors, via DVI, HDMI, DP. -- CANNOT. It's protected. Apple designed it that way.

You can play them though on your iphone, ipad, iMac, Macbook built-in monitors... i.e. devices with built-in monitors.

What you can do is right click on the title and select view it as SD video.

heck, even on a real iMac, if you have a 2nd external monitor connected that is non HDCP, it will not play HD movies... until you unplug the 2nd monitor. Even if you have a Macbook, and you connect an external projector, it will not play the HD movie, until you unplug the projector.

Black screen and this message when trying to play iTunes purchased HD movies on external "non-authorized/non-HDCP" monitors.

Check the Apple message board. It's a known problem even with real Macs.

You are wrong! HD content works on all Macs as long as the display and the graphics card both support HDCP.

I would try at this point

1st the smbios for macpro 3,1
2nd another bootloader (a newer version of chameleon) maybe this ? http://bit.ly/Ns27nZ
The new boot loader didn't make a difference and my smbios are already Macpro 3,1 :banghead:

Will this HD content play in VLC ?

Ok those are related I think

One suggestion is changing the smbios to one that looks like your computer
(I use Chameleon Wizard) http://www.osx86.net/view/2607-chameleo ... allos.html

From this thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... pic=280397

This could maybe help ? adding the ati framebuffer in org.chameleon.Boot.plist
http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=19330
Thanks for the info i did what the video card forum said and found out i have a frame buffer auto loaded but still no luck and I'm not sure what the smbios wizard is for

i get this in console iTunes[211]: AVF error: fail to create QT accelerator

Smbios wizard will help you test different smbios (imac13,2 or Macpro 3,1 for example) very usefull to test.

You said you already installed ***** **** (censored) your talking about the Golden Master ? also did you try playing HD content in VLC ?

How would he play the HD content in VLC?? iTunes Purchases have DRM, only iTunes and Quicktime would play them on the computer....
I have the same problem, I have an HDCP monitor on my build, and iTunes plays audio, doesn't give any errors, just doesn't want to play it, and authorization errors with quicktime so idk.
This Problem only started occuring with itunes 10.6 update, and with 1080p purchases, 720p purchases play fine.
