Issues starting High Sierra Installation

Status
Not open for further replies.
All I can suggest at this point is to create a new USB installer with that macOS High Sierra and 16GB Flash disk using Terminal cmd.

I don't use Unibeast+ Multibeast but Terminal cmds. Not because I don't trust but by habit for a long time. I have forgotten when I used Unibeast last.

If you like my suggestion for terminal cmd + CLOVER EFI :

  • Erase the 16GB USB Flash disk with good LED display light in working Mac/Hack >Disk Utility >Erase as GUID+HFS+J and named Untitled (that is the default and I have used in the cmd) In my system I can even use my USB 3. port using a USB 3.0 disk for fast USB Installer creation and use to install the system on HDD
  • Use the following elevated command to install (May copy/ paste following cmd on Terminal and ENTER and type password when prompted >ENTER
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app

  • When finished, install the latest CLOVER EFI on that macOS High Sierra USB installer with a downloaded Clover EFI Bootloader
    • you can use downloaded Clover Configurator's Tools bar from the launched screen's Left panel to download the latest Clover EFI to your Desktop)>Clover Configurator (Global Edition)
      • See image
    • Next edit the EFI >EFI>CLOVER (drivers64.uefI , kexts/Other and config.plist as you have been trying up to the last post. By now you know what kexts and EFI files go where and how to edit config.plist menu)
Hmm - attemping this now; have the drive writing macOS to it, but when I go to install the latest Clover Configurator it says it's not compatible with my version of macOS? I continue anyways and it fails. Is there one that works with 10.13.6?
Or should I just use the version that runs that I downloaded? It's only the update that seems to be causing issue.

  • Have you set Security and Privacy to download Software from Anywhere?

  • See image for CCG compatibility

Try this on Terminal : cmd

sudo spctl --assess --master-disable
your password ENTER
Now go and check security & Privacy to see if permitted to use software from Third party .
Then install CCG

Couldn't get it to update.
Tried with the version I had. Although not sure I did a new Clover install or if I just changed some values on the previous plist. It didn't seem like the EFI partition got erased.
Stalled at same screen - here is config.plist

  • Your config.plist looks OK.
  • But, you did not upload the images of Clover/drivers64UEFI and clover/kexts/other folders from CLOVER as well as the latest verbose boot screen to correlate the error with CLOVER contents & BIOS (assuming an unchanged BIOS options from before).
For a macOS USB Installer to boot without fail, its macOS file system must be OK, its CLOVER contents must be OK and the BIOS Setup must be OK .
If USB Installer fails to reach the installation screen, then we have to look in detail each of these 3 areas.
You had verified the macOS HS to be OK
That leaves the other two areas.
From CLOVER I only got the config.plist which is an instruction table to use what is inside other folders like drivers64UEFI and Other
config.plist
menu could also take into account BIOS options you have chosen for that Boot Disk.

Here are screens of CLOVER kexts and drivers64UEFI
Also the entire EFI folder.

Going to get my full system BIOS and post screens and a new boot screen shortly.

Here are new BIOS pics and screen shot of stall.

  • I have reviewed your uploads.
  • I have no changes to offer for the uploaded BIOS. Looks GOOD to me.
  • I have edited CLOVER/kexts/Other and drivers64UEFI.
  • unzip, extract and replace the folders inside your Current CLOVER with the extracted folders from zipped files.
  • See uploaded config.plist_ACPI and edit your CLOVER/config.plist>ACPI in this way
  • Try booting in verbose mode (-v) and upload any problem screen shot.
