Hi all.

I have a hackintosh running OS X 10.6.8. It works great, but I had to do some tinkering for my video card to work properly. Since I already had hackintosh compatibility issue with the nVidia GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB video card, I was wondering if anyone else had problems or success with this video card under OS X Mavericks.

My HW:

Gygabyte GA-Z68M-D2H v.F4
Intel i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge socket 1155)
nVidia GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB
8GB RAM
500MB HD
USB KB & Mouse

I hope the 9600 GSO video card works, so that I don't have to drop $300 on a video card (in case I do, any cheap but great compatible video card recommendation?).

Thanks for any help you can provide before I even attempt to upgrade to Mavericks with this guide from tonymacx86.com

I had trouble with my older cards too. I was running 10.8.5 with dual 8800 GT cards, one for my two main monitors and one for my tv, and I had to take them out any time I installed updates for the first boot. I just upgraded to Mavericks and I couldn't get them to work at all. I ended up getting the EVGA GTX 660 from newegg through the link in the CustoMac page. It was $175 with free shipping and came with a $25 rebate which I just sent in, so it will end up being $150. It works flawlessly on Mavericks and I didn't have to do anything extra. If you're worried about spending a lot like I was (I got my old cards for $30 each on ebay), then this card has the best price/performance for nvidia cards according to this site: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html
