Is MSI Z370 Gaming M5 Good Choice for Hackintosh?

I have installed two operating systems on two diferent drivers:
  • Windows 10 Pro on Intel SSD 540s 180GB M.2 80 mm SATA 6Gb/s 16 nm TLC
  • macOS High Sierra on another Intel SSD 540s 180GB M.2 80 mm SATA 6Gb/s 16 nm TLC
There is no Intel Optane in my system because it need Intel RAID which is not supported in macOS (in UEFI set AHCI SATA mode instead SATA RAID mode).

I have created clover configuration like configuration for Kabby Lake processors, in Clover Configurator:
  • ACPI:
    • DSDT Patches:

      Comment: change EHC1 to EH01
      Find: 45484331
      Replace: 45483031

      Comment: change EHC2 to EH02
      Find: 45484332
      Replace: 45483032

      Comment: change _DSM to XDSM
      Find: 5f44534d
      Replace: 5844534d

    • DSDT Fixes:

      FixIPIC
      FixShutdown
      FixHPET
      AddMCHC
      Fix_WAK
      Fix_RTC

Also you must download the newest kexts:
  • FakeSMC
  • FakePCIID
  • VoodooPS2Controller
  • AtherosE2200Ethernet
and put them to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other


There maby problems with allocation of RAM at start... You can try change driver OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi to OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi or OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI but use only one! It can be set during installation of CLOVER EFI on USB. Sometimes restart and new boot to CLOVER on USB should help. This problem is on Coffe Lake is known like error "does printf works"...

Everything should works on MSI Z370 GAMING M5 except HDMI audio. On my video card NVidia Gigabyte GeForce 1050Ti G1 Gaming which i use it doesn't works, audio works only on DisplayPort. If You plan use integrated Intel UHD 630 also will be worked fine, audio also works on standard ACL1220 on motherboard. My recomendation is to use Intel UHD 630 or some AMD card - they have native support because NVidia cards have problem with updates... Install macOS on Intel UHD 630 video card.

After some (memory) problems I switched to OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi and everthing is working perfectly. No problems, stable system since the beginning of February.

How did you get your USB to work? I can't get my usb 3 slots to work at all.
 
@eyeless916, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card.
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard (Mobo).

I never had to do anything special. Since my first post I solved all my problems. Everthing working even the FCPX Hardware acceleration.

Here is my EFI folder. I removed the NVDIAfix because I don't want to use audio over DP. In fact, no audio drives installed (using a Motu Interface).
