Is it smart to somewhat future proof with MB and CPU?

Im curious what most on this board think about getting an Intel 7th gen CPU and a Gigabyte 270 series MB for creating a Hackintosh if you don't mind waiting a couple months?
There actually art any good closeout deals on 170 series MB and 6th gen CPUs. When you the math at most places the price difference between the two generation is very minimal and seems if you can get better technology then its smarter and worth the wait.
Im in the position of just needing a new MB and CPU to go with my other existing compatible components. I also have a new MacBook Pro so I can use that to edit with until the new gen components all check out. I just don't know the timeline for when they will be supported but I assume it won't long.
I have seen some already taking the challenge of getting the 7th get chips and 270 boards to work. Id love to hear others thoughts about this subject.

There's virtually no difference between Kaby Lake and Skylake. Intel has added H.265 acceleration (which OS X doesn't support anyway) and slightly increased the clock speed, that's all. It's also the same socket, so a Z270 board won't last any longer (in terms of upgradability) than a Z170 board.

This means two things:

1. Thanks to Intel's lack of innovation, it's quite easy to install macOS on a Z270/Kaby Lake system. All it needs is a faked CPUID (and another one for the iGPU, in case you want to use that, too).
2. On the other hand, there's no real reason to wait for Kaby Lake. If you can score a good deal on Skylake, go for it.

Thanks for the info and I was thinking that if the price is basically the same why wouldn't you get the new components. For instance the Kalby Lake i5 is $10 increase from the slower Skylake processor. Also the Gigabyte 270 series motherboards are virtually the same price but come with a few features that are better.

You'll just have to search the internet for resellers that are closing them out. There are never huge discounts on last gen hardware until it gets much older than 1-2 years.

I already have a great case, power supply, 32 gb ddr4 ram, water cooler, ac wireless card and much more and since I have my 2017 i7 Macbook Pro, Im thinking I can afford to buy the 270 series board and a 7th get cpu and just wait for TonyMac to do more testing as others will do as well. You would assume that it should work fine in due time, correct? I really just need to swap out my 5820k processor and Asus x99-A motherboard so that my new build will be much easier and more reliable hopefully.

Yes it's safe to say at this point in time that Kaby Lake / Z270 will work just fine. Go ahead with that and there should be full support from macOS later this year once new Mac desktops come out. No faking IDs or spoofing required.

Thats good to hear. I really like a few new boards in the 270 series from Gigabyte and I can get the i5 7th gen processor for almost the same price as the previous ones.
