Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

I took your advice and started from the beginning.

I changed NOTHING in the config (before I had boot args that possibly causes the issue)
and only grabbed the 3 essential kexts.
This time however, I also grabbed the HPRAIDInjector.kext (just to verify).

Success!
install went smooth, and now just successfully booted!

shutdown works perfectly now too!

now I just need to look into Ethernet/ (or wifi if it is supported, but I don't think so)

Thanks again!
No more Disabler.kext :D
 
Ethernet working! :) [Wifi not compatible, but hey, I am satisfied with ethernet, at least I have internet access!]

This is my first time typing on OS X!

Unfortunately I guess I spoke too soon about the 'power off' issue.
I noticed battery is not shown and if I tick it, it turns off instantly, claiming 0%.

Brightness is stuck on maximum, no way to configure it yet- I will go through the fixes next and hopefully have good luck.

I again just wanted to say thank you for putting up with my beginner level knowledge! You have made this possible for me! Thank you very much RehabMan!!
