Hi guys,
I did just that cleared NVRAM and MAC and GUID with it.
I was able to find a tool to restore MAC but not FW GUID. I have asked ASUS support for utility they refused sending me to their service shop which will not gonna do it for free.

The board in question is P5K flashed to P5KR, FW chip is VIA VT6308P. But I suppose utility is MB agnostic.
If anybody have luck with recovering FW GUID please help.
Thank you

Hi,

I had a similar trouble with my ASRock X79. I have a tool somewhere with that I could enter GUID in DOS mode. I'll search my software collection and you could give it a try...
ASRock and ASUS belong together somehow, don't they?

Ok, found. Instructions are inside the package, good luck!!

Big thanks,
I will try it after I will find my USB floppy to boot into DOS and report back.
Seems like you too have VIA FW chip in it albeit a bit newer one.

USB stick prepared with Rufus and a DOS Image also works fine...

Thanks for the Rufus tool — really handy.
So fwguid.exe can't do this for me. I can run it but if I run it with any of parameters it will just do nothing.
:(
