How do I make my elan touchpad lenovo Y50 work by developing the required software?

I recently did a hackintosh on my lenovo Y50 laptop. There are a few things which are not working. The touchpad is one of those things. Touchpad is not recognized by the system. There are kexts or solutions mentioned on this forum, but I want to learn how to make my touchpad work on my own. I checked that I have a Elan touchpad. Now, I want to know what software I need to build to make it work, or for Mac to recognize it. I understand that I will need to read the hardware specifications for the touchpad, but what to do after that? I chose the touchpad because I believe it is a good place to start.
