Hi,

Decided to install MacOS High Sierra on an old laptop not supporting UEFI.

Tried to boot it up with Clover, but result you can see in attachments.

I'm quite new to hackintoshing, so as to this forum, so please don't be mad.

So, I'm asking for help configuring OpenCore or Clover for that sort of a laptop for MacOS High Sierra.

Also, I don't currently have MacOS installed on this laptop, just Linux.

Specs
=====
Chipset: Mobile Intel® H55 Express Chipset
CPU: Intel® Core I5 M-460 2.53GHz
GPU: AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 (512MB)
BIOS: InsydeH20 V1.30 Rev 3.5

(If you need anything else, please, let me know, I'll share that with you)

Thanks so far!

Hi there.

Moved to Laptop Support as it is not a desktop etc.

Please complete your hardware Profile as has been requested by the site Admins. Thank you.

Okay, your problem is the USB port you are using is becoming disabled during the boot sequence. What you can just make out in the last line on screen is "Still waiting for root device".

As you probably don't have much choice of USB ports on a laptop you need to:

1) Make sure you have all USB options Eanbled in your BIOS.

2) Add the USBInjectAll.kext to the kexts folder in your Clover EFI.

3) Use only a USB 2.0 memory stick.

Let us know how you get on. No-one is mad at you ...

:)

Thanks! I'll try that in a moment!

I've enabled D2D recovery, LAN boot, etc. in my BIOS, added USBInjectAll.kext into CLOVER/kexts/Other, but still getting the same message.

Do I need to add all the .kext files into config.plist or something? If yes, how do I do that and which format should I use?

Thanks

o, with Clover you do not need to declare any kexts in your config.plist.

The USB options to check in BIOS are related to EHCI or XHCI Hand-off and Legacy.

However I'm worried that your HD 5470 GPU is too old for High Sierra. We need @Feartech on the scene to advise ...

Unfortunately, I don't have that options in bios.
