How many simultaneous inputs can a ps2 trackpad recognize?

And does anyone know what protocol the MBPs' trackpads use?

As for smart scroll, I have it installed now, and it's far too buggy feeling. I think vanilla is definitely the way to go if we can figure something out.

Our trackpad 3 finger.

(anyone has tried this? http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1066)

That returns a webpage not found for me

edit- never mind it loaded the second time.

I have not, but I doubt it helps. Its probably in here.

EDIT2- looking closer- It contains the changes for older macbooks. So perhaps one of them has a similar trackpad to us, so we can see what changes this makes?

It says on the site it needs 10.6.4. I'd bet it was integrated with 10.6.5.

The best bet would be take the vanilla version of all these files from 10.6.4, and compare them to the edited ones. The changes for the added trackpads would hopefully then be helpful.
